Developmental Editing ($50/hr; roughly 6-10 pages/hr)
A complete assessment of CRAFT through story structure, worldbuilding, character development, and dialogue. Concentration is on how each story element adds to and progresses story. It is imperative that all parts work together to create a fluid, well-developed story that engages the reader.
Line Editing ($50/hr; roughly 6-10 pages/hr)
A specific breakdown of LANGUAGE through author's authentic style, word choice, and syntax (sentence structure). Concentration is on how the story is told, which includes pacing and stylistic consistency. It is dire to tell the story in the best way possible, using specific style and language techniques, so that readers can understand the author's intention with ease.
Copy Editing ($40/hr; roughly 6-10 pages/hr)
A detailed examination of READABILITY through mechanics (punctuation), grammar, and fact-checking. Concentration is on the fluidity of the manuscript for an easily understandable and enjoyable read. Because this is the final stage of editing, it is critical to make sure the story is polished for a clean read.
Proofreading ($40/hr; roughly 10-15 pages/hr)
A final reading of a manuscript AFTER editing revisions have been completed. Concentration will be on re-examining story, language, and readability. It is important to proofread a manuscript after all edit revisions to ensure that the manuscript is polished before querying.
